Two Polish science institutions: Pro Humano Tex Centre of the Technical University of Łódź and The Institute of Natural Fibres and Medicinal Plants in Poznań have invented the textile that can heal wounds and solve many dermatological problems. This invention has been made under the Bioakod project supported by National Centre for Research and Development.

The innovation focuses on the natural healing properties of herbs and plants. Polish scientists invented microcapsules with plant extracts and put them to the Surface of fabric that are used in the underwear and other clothes production. The healing extracts are released from the fabric when the user moves. The initiative is part of a global trend to produce fabric with unique properties for human health, that is called the cosmetotextiles.
